How We Can Save You Money – Part 2

This is Part Two of a three-part report of how Harshman Travel saved our clients lots of money during our recent cruise to Alaska.  We recommend that you read each of the three parts in order.  If you have not seen Part One, here is a link to that entry.

Harshman Travel enjoys a close working relationship with Norwegian Cruise Line.  As a result, we advised clients, joining us on our Alaska cruise, to consider budgeting some extra funds.  We wanted to make them aware of the money-saving “NCL Cruise Next Program”.

This program allows clients, while on a cruise, to purchase vouchers that can serve as a deposit for any future cruise.  The vouchers are good for four years and they are totally transferable.

Each voucher costs $250 but, when purchased onboard, the client receives an instant $100 FREE onboard credit.  With the purchase of two or more vouchers, the FREE onboard credit amount increases to 50% of the total price. The cost of one voucher is $250 and the client automatically receives a FREE $100 onboard credit.  With the purchase of two vouchers, the total cost is $500 BUT the automatic FREE onboard credit now becomes $250. Clients can purchase up to eight vouchers.

While we were on our Alaska cruise, four client couples decided to take advantage of the Cruise Next program.  They were basically securing funds for deposits on future cruises. However, they were ONLY paying out 50% of the value of their deposit credits.  Each of the four couples purchased several vouchers so that the amounts of money saved were substantial.

NCL was also running a separate “Double Up” special which allowed clients to use two vouchers for their deposit on any future cruise.  Normally, the voucher program allows each client to only use one voucher per cruise. The timing worked out very well for our group because each of the four couples took advantage of the “Double Up” program.  Each of them ended up with $500 deposits on future cruises at an actual cost to them of only $250.

On our website, we always keep a running list of upcoming cruises where we have booked Group space.  Whenever our clients want to make future vacation plans, they can check to see which of our money-saving group itineraries might be of interest to them.
